2020-21 School Year information

 

FOR ALL GUSD STUDENTS

 

GUSD began the school year in distance learning for all students in grades TK-12. In-person instruction will resume when State and County guidelines for reopening have been met   To serve all students, GUSD is offering two models for families to consider: distance learning and the Virtual Learning Academy.

DISTANCE LEARNING
TK - 5TH GRADES
  • Live virtual instruction with classroom teacher
  • Daily schedule similar to in-person school day
  • Phased return to in-person instruction when state/local safety guidelines are met
  • Board-adopted, standards-based curriculum
  • Specialized programs offered 
  • Students are enrolled in their home school
  • All GUSD students are automatically enrolled

6TH - 12TH GRADES

  • Students are enrolled in their home school
  • All GUSD students are automatically enrolled

VIRTUAL LEARNING ACADEMY
ALL GRADES
  • Independent learning (parent or caregiver involvement is essential)
  • Flexible schedule
  • Full-year commitment
  • Prescribed curriculum through Edmentum (Calvert for K-5 grade students, Courseware for 6-12 grade students.)
  • Specialized programs are not available
  • Application period closed July 29
